Skull & Crossbones Patchwork

This is the "theme" I'm working around lately with regards to tote bags. I've made three so far and I have plans for several more. I love using "vintage" style prints to construct the images. the juxtaposition of the macabre (skull) and the "quaint" (fabric/patchwork) is something I am intrigued by.

Red Gingham Ruffled Skirt

I made this litte red gingham ruffled skirt after seeing "Mary" in the Little Rascals wearing a gingham dress with ruffled skirt. I used a pattern for the skirt and then added the ruffles myself. I think it turned out pretty well for my first try. The really funny thing is that I tried it on my 14 month old son to see how it fit - I must admit he was sooooo darling! My husband wasn't too keen on it though (guess I'll have to find a little girl to give it to!) I've been thinking of doing a small line of clothing inspired by the show - there are lots of very cute ideas.

long time no post

I'm going to try this blogging thing again. Although I've been better at posting to my little angel's blog (son Paul age 14 months), I've not put the time into this one. I've been reading lots of other crafting blogs lately that have inspired me. I'm working on lots of projects right now so I thought I'd post some of them for random commentary. Please note that most designs are my very own - so please don't copy them without persmission.
